FAQ
Things you might want to know about PNG to STL.
Which image formats are supported?
PNG / JPG and other common bitmaps. PNG is recommended, especially when you need a transparent background (transparent areas become the base plate automatically).
How long does generation take?
Meshing, preview and export all run locally in your browser. A typical image finishes in under ~3 seconds — no server wait.
What's the difference between STL and 3MF?
STL is the most universal format, compatible with every 3D printer and CNC. 3MF additionally keeps the surface color texture, which is ideal for color printing and for re-editing in Blender / ZBrush.
Can I export a colored model?
Yes. Enable Color mapping and the 3MF will carry vertex colors, preserving the surface texture for color printing.
Is my image uploaded anywhere?
No. All parsing and mesh generation happen locally in your browser. Your image is never sent to any server — fully private.
Do I need to sign up or pay?
No account, no login. Core features are free, with an ad-light experience, and exports carry no watermark or resolution cap.
Can the model be printed directly?
Yes. The output is a watertight, closed mesh with no holes, ready to import into Cura / Chitubox or any slicer.
