Features
PNG to STL turns a PNG into a printable 3D relief model, with every adjustment happening in your browser.
1 · Image upload & parsing
- Drag-and-drop or click to upload PNG / JPG and common formats.
- Grayscale and transparent-background PNG are detected automatically; transparent areas flatten into the base plate.
- Large images are downsampled to a sensible mesh density so generation stays under ~3 seconds.
2 · Relief geometry
- Relief height: 0.5–20 mm controls overall depth.
- Edge bevel radius: 0–5 mm gives a soft outer slope instead of a hard cliff.
- Base plate: none / thin (1.5 mm) / thick (3 mm).
- Edge subdivision: 1 (hard edge) / 8 (smooth) / 16 (ultra-smooth).
- Contrast: 0–2 multiplies the grayscale height difference.
- Output is a watertight, closed mesh with no holes — ready to slice.
3 · Materials & color
- Six preview materials: steel, copper, gold, white, black, translucent (lithophane).
- Color mapping: original image colors or brightness (grayscale), with brightness & saturation tweaks.
- Vertex colors are written into 3MF, preserving surface texture for color printing.
4 · Dual-format export
- STL: the universal format, compatible with Cura, Chitubox, every printer and CNC.
- 3MF: keeps geometry plus surface color texture for color printing and re-editing.
- Export carries no watermark and no resolution cap — free to use.
